It is reported that Shahid Kapoor has finished a Ranbir after inviting his intimate friend Anushka Sharma acting as Ophelia in director Vishal Bhardwaj’s new upcomging film based on Shakespeare’s Hamlet. After current news about how the actor was planning to sport a bald look for his role in the film, it’s no doubt that he would like his Badmaash Company co-star as Ophelia in his film.
Shahid has already proposaled his demand to Vishal Bhardwaj who is deeply impressed with the Kapoors. After having worked with Shahid Kapoor’s father, veteran actor Pankaj Kapoor in the 2003 adaptation of Shakespeare’s Macbeth ‘Maqbool’, Pankaj Kapoor’s son Shahid is set to be the lead in Vishal’s next.
Vishal also directed Anushka in Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola which didn’t fare well at the box-office. So, it remains to be seen whether he will approve this suggestion or not.
Last heard, Vishal was planning on casting Shahid for Kaminey 2, a sequel to the Shahid Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra starrer Kaminey. Turns out, that wasn’t the case and it was finally decided they’d work in Vishal’s adaptation of Hamlet instead. Vishal sure loves his classics.
Shahid’s upcoming film Phata Poster Nikla Hero is scheduled to be released on 20 September 2013.
